It is dependent upon an internet connection though and if you are looking for a straightforward IP camera with local storage then you should perhaps look elsewhere.

Overall Review: Compared to some other cameras of a similar type the EZVIZ Mini Plus is a high quality device. I would say the target audience are those who are curious but not serious.Ĭontrol must be via smartphone/tablet app Unfortunately, due to the proprietary nature of this camera. If they created an outdoors version, this would be excellent. If they fixed the above issues, I would purchase several of these. When switching between basic, standard, and hi def mode, you need to reboot the app (This is ok, as long as you know you need to reboot). Security cameras allow you to store the much needed footage (aka security footage) onto your local setup. You can NOT use your own hard drives with this camera. These are the subscription to the cloud or a proprietary network drive. No IFTTT interface (don't know why it's listed as a feature).ģ. Mine did not come with the 130 degree wide lens. You can view up to 4 cameras at a time (the feature is in the app).Ĭons: 1. If you are outside the network, I don't think it actually works.Ĥ. The lag is minimal, if you are on the same network. (This is a make or break step for most users).Ģ.
Setup is extremely easy, create an account, verify it, and hold the phone to the camera. It is priced well, works great and does everything is advertised it would do. Overall though, I am really pleased with the EZVIZ mini Plus. My only complaint is that I am not able to have it connect to my Synology NAS, but to be fair, there are many others that cannot as well. I did notice that it does run a little hot, but I do not think that is a issue. The app also works great remotely, so checking in on my dogs throughout the day both live and recorded was easy. I was able to quickly access all the functionality and immediately harass my dogs with the 2 way audio. The app is perhaps a little dated feeling, but it works fine.

Plug it in, install the app, scan the code on the camera, enter a couple things and BAM, you are pretty much ready to go. The EZVIZ hits all but one of those requirements, but is still worth it.įirst of all, it was super easy to set up.

So I wanted a small footprint, wifi enabled 1080p camera with 2 way audio that will connect to my NAS.
Overall Review: I have been interested in getting a security camera, mostly to keep an eye on my puppy during the day while I am at work. If you need something for continuously-streamed video, this is not the device for you.
Overall Review: Overall if you just need something as a motion tracking camera that can record to a micro SD card, this will suit your needs. There is no setting to override the timeout either which I found to compound my frustration with this functionality.
Not being able to view a live stream for an indefinite amount of time would prevent me from purchasing this unit if it were not provided for testing purposes. This device CANNOT be used as an always-on camera -this limits its use for my family since I intended to have this as a primary camera for a baby monitor. There is a time limit (I believe it's 30 - 60 seconds) where the video will pause and you have to restart the stream. The unit also does not allow for constant streaming. The camera comes with a couple mounting options/brackets to suspend it upside down or mount it to the wall which I don't particularly need but is nice to have included.Ĭons: The unit gets very warm when using it for extended periods of time. Overall a very positive experience with a high-quality camera. The set up and config of the unit is smooth and changing settings on the fly is very simple. The IR LEDs are powerful and provide a superb amount of illumination in a very dimly lit room. This device has been purposed as a secondary camera for my newborn's nursery and allows us an alternative angle to view our baby from compared to the dedicated monitor we already had. The picture comes in crystal clear over my local wireless network and I had no problems configuring the unit to get it up and running. Pros: Video quality on this unit is great for both daytime as well as nighttime viewing.
